I’m not exactly resistant to progress in modern technology, just incredibly fearful of it. That’s why I’ve never actually held an iPod and why my cell phone is the kind that just makes phone calls and that’s all. But since Coming Home is going to come out as an ebook, I decided it was time to get a Kindle so I could actually read the thing.
So I am now the proud owner of a Kindle Fire! I am also a tightly-wound owner. I’ve had a few minor glitches getting it up and running but–fingers crossed–I think we’re in business! And I only whimpered a little, so I’m very proud of myself.
I’ve even figured out how to download a book, so I figure that’s a big accomplishment, but I’ll bet there are all sorts of wonderful things my Kindle can do, right? Like surf the net wirelessly, play movies, babysit small children, imitate bird calls, and probably fight crime, too. Wow.
Oooo! Look at that! I just figured out how to put a lock on my Kindle. Look at me go!
My confidence level is soaring. Next thing you know, I’ll be texting.
(pets Kindle with delight)
I think this could be the beginning of a beautiful friendship.
